What Is Clothing Quality Secrets?

If You’re Relying on Designer Names and Logos to Determine Quality, You Could Be Paying Too Much for Inferior Clothing

Hi, it’s Diana Pemberton-Sikes, and I know that’s a bold statement, but I’m seeing this more and more from my clients.  Instead of learning and understanding the elements of clothing quality, many of them are just relying on labels, logos, or store names to do the job.  They never took home ec, have never sewn a garment themselves and have no idea what good clothing construction looks like.  So they just listen to their friends or peer group, go by the brand name, and if they paid very little for it, are shocked when the garment quickly falls apart.

Here’s a news flash:

Not everything that has a designer name on it is actually made by that designer.  If you go to their atelier or boutique or a high end department store, you’re probably getting the real deal.  But if you’re getting it from a discount or moderately priced store, chances are, it’s because of a licensing deal.  That means that the designer lends their name to the line, a 3rd party manufacturers it, and the brand name gets a percentage of the profits.  But they don’t actually make the garments or accessories themselves like they do for their higher end products.  Which means that if you don’t know or understand how to assess quality, you could be buying inferior merchandise.  It wouldn’t be the first time a bad licensing deal cheapened or destroyed a designer name – or that customers paid good money for bad products.

But there’s an easy solution to never being duped again.  It’s called Clothing Quality Secrets, and it’s my brand new video course.  I’ll tell you more about it in just a moment, but I want to let you know  up front that I’m limiting access to the first 300 since all these videos put a drain on my web server and I want everyone to be able to watch them without issue.  The more people there are, the slower everything runs.

Anyway, let’s talk a little bit more about the problem with relying on brand name designers and logos.

The Problem With Relying on Brand Names and Logos

First, if you’re only shopping by label or logo and you typically buy pieces for $200 or less, chances are, it’s a licensing deal, and the product isn’t even manufactured by the name on the label or logo.  You could be get anything.

Secondly, you’re missing out on a world of fabulous clothes.  There are talented dressmakers everywhere, not just at brand name companies, and you could get a fabulous, unique garment for a fraction of what you’d pay for a brand name.

Finally, in some circles, wearing labels or logos marks you as being “new money”  or worse – an aspirant (high aspirations, low money) – because people with “old money” don’t talk about money and they certainly don’t wear logos.  People who know quality know – everyone else has to rely on logos.

So how much is all this going to cost?

A one time payment of $97.

Yes, that may seem a little steep, but think about that pile of clothes sitting in your closet right now that has items in need of repair.  You know, the buttons, the zippers, the hems.  The things that started to come apart after just a few wearings or that shrank in the wash the first time you washed them.  I bet it’s more than $100 worth of clothes.  Heck, it’s probably more than $200.

All money you probably wouldn’t have spent if you’d watched the Clothing Quality Secrets videos first.  You would have known what to look for before you left the store.  You wouldn’t have been swayed by mark downs or designer names.  No, you would have know exactly how to assess the quality of the garment, and would probably have left it behind – instead of wearing it once or twice before tossing it on to the “to be repaired” pile.

The choice is yours.  Either scrimp on the learning how to assess high quality, or regret making poor quality choices time and again.  It’s pretty much a no-brainer.
